October 27-29, 2003 – World Mission Week – Concordia University, St. Paul, Minnesota - Jotham Johann Jhang – speak at Chapel service, outreach luncheon, pre-seminary students dinner, and serve as chaplain at Student Center.

September 24-25, 2003 – Asian Mission Leaders Summit – St. Louis, MO

The 2^nd Annual LCMS Asian Mission Leaders Summit was held in St. Louis, MO on September 24 and 25 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Bridgeton, Missouri.  LCMS District officials and Asian Missionary leaders met to celebrate the many new Asian missions which have been launched, to network with each other and to strategize about coordinating Asian Missionary efforts better.  Rev. Steve Hughey, Director of Networking for LCMS World Mission was the Facilitator.  Asian Mission leaders also heard presentations about identifying and assessing missionary candidates and reaching out with small groups.

JULY 17-19, 2003    International Lutheran Laymen’s League Convention (Peoria, Illinois)  Jotham Johann Jhang was Friday breakfast (July 18) speaker, filling in for the Rev. John Nunes who sustained a sports injury.  Jotham shared about “Lightbulb Moments in Cross-Cultural Outreach”.  See more about this convention at www.lhm.org.

JULY 15-16, 2003    A “Huddle on Asian Missions” – Jotham Johann Jhang led a “thinktank” on expanding Asian mission work, particularly in the Midwest.  Representatives from the Iowa East, Mid-South, Minnesota South, Ohio, South Wisconsin, and Southern Districts along with Dr. Robert Scudieri of LCMS World Mission met with Jotham Johann Jhang to discuss and plan outreach to the growing Asian populations in the respective districts.  Demographic information provided by CAME and the Lutheran Church Extension Fund was shared and exciting possibilities for partnerships and collaboration were shared as well.
