Easter 2007 Letter to the CAME Donors

 Lamb

March 29, 2007

Dear Friend of CAME,

A Blessed Easter to you in the name of Christ Jesus, our Savior!  On behalf of our Asian missions in the field and everyone in the CAME network, I thank you for your continued, wonderful support and prayers.

The latest mission planting news is that we are planning to tackle Vietnamese outreach in Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington as well as Asian Indian outreach in the Washington, DC-area and Atlanta, Georgia.

Stay tuned for more updates as we welcome congregations and leaders who have emerged to work with us in presenting the Gospel to these ethnic groups in those areas.

We recently did an extensive demographic study regarding the Asian community in the Atlanta-area in response to a request from the Florida-Georgia District, LCMS.  We discovered that the Atlanta-area’s Asian Indian community is growing much more rapidly than expected.  This is happening nationwide, as the Asian Indians are surpassing even the Chinese population in the US.  95% of the approximately 3 million Asian Indians in the US are unchurched.  Rest assured that we will continue to keep an eye on this development as well as to put this mission field high on our priority list.

Construction continues at the future home of the CAME Mission Center/Lutheran Church of St. Andrew at 15300 New Hampshire, Avenue in Silver Spring, Maryland.  This campus will house the offices of CAME and feature a mission conference center.  We thank those of you who have or are supporting this construction and furnishing effort.  Our Antioch partner church, St. Andrew, will be housing the new headquarters of CAME, absorbing our construction costs.  These headquarters will better enable CAME to host many thinktanks, conferences and training workshops regarding mission work among Asians.  Please prayerfully consider supporting this construction and furnishing effort.

Please give online at http://www.cameministries.org/Missions/Giving.html.

In our upcoming Pentecost newsletter, we will be sharing more with you about the new mission starts, which are in the plans for 2008 and an update about the construction of the new CAME Mission Center.  Indeed the Lord is blessing our work to people from and in China, India, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Korea, Nepal, Burma, The Philippines, Japan and many other countries!

Thank you for your prayers, consideration, and support!  Many Blessings to you and yours during the Easter season!  The tomb is empty.  Rejoice!  Christ has risen!  And we proclaim this Message to the 18 million Asian immigrants in the US, 97% of whom are unchurched!

Hallelujah!
